The SteelSeries Apex 9 TKL is a compact tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard designed for competitive gaming and everyday use.
Its TKL layout removes the number pad while retaining the function row and navigation keys, creating additional desk space for larger mouse movements without sacrificing commonly used keyboard controls.
The keyboard uses SteelSeries OptiPoint optical switches, which detect keystrokes using light for fast actuation, zero debounce and a stated 0.
2ms response time.
The two point actuation system allows users to choose between a fast 1mm actuation point for gaming or a more deliberate 1.
5mm setting for typing and precision.
The Apex 9 TKL features hot swappable switches, allowing compatible OptiPoint switches to be replaced or customised without soldering.
The keyboard also has per key RGB illumination that can be customised through SteelSeries GG, while the Series 5000 aluminium top plate provides a rigid and durable foundation for the keyboard.
The American QWERTY layout makes this particular version suitable for users who prefer the US keyboard arrangement.
A detachable USB C braided cable provides a convenient wired connection, while the keyboard also includes adjustable tilt legs and double shot PBT keycaps designed for durability and a consistent typing feel.
